Cutting it fine!

Hi folks,
Just wanted to share my day with you. It was supposed to be straight forward, little one to play school, housework, emails and blog.

Nothing eventful there but what I wanted. Everyone else had other ideas!

Dear son told me last night, 3 days b4 the first family wedding for fifteen years, that he has cadet camp this weekend! So, not only will he not be at the wedding, but he needed some kit. Kit that cannot be bought where we live. Some of the items were to replace items left behind on the last camp trip.

This morning was  a few phones calls to find Army surplus stores and a trip out of town to get supplies, and damage the bank account.

Drama over until I asked dear partner why he didn't say much when I showed him my outfit
for the wedding on Saturday. He said he thought it was too short. I was n't sure about it and it was my back up dress, which became my only dress. Could not find anything I liked after several out of town shopping trips.

Tomorrow I am off out of town again to look again. :(

Wish me luck! :)

  2. Oh Sweetie!!! Good luck with the dress hunt! I know it can be stressful. I think I ended up with 4 dresses for my daughter's wedding - and none of them were exactly what I was looking for. Post a picture when you find it!

  3. McGuffy Ann,
Thank u. I shall feel much happier if I can get something else. I should have gone with my first instinct that this dress was not right.

    Donna,
Thank u. I have 3 shops left to look in, out of town.
    Pics to follow. :)

  4. Oh dear, can you believe that about your son?! Only telling you virtually at the last minute! Good luck with finding a dress. I always find that if I'm really looking for something in particular, then I never seem to find it. Let us know how you get on!

  5. Thank you, Thisisme.

I am off as soon as the shops open.
My son is a typical male and a typical 14 yr old. Thinks about getting ready at the last minute!

I think the reason I cannot find anything is
    1) because I am too fussy and
    2) I am in a difficult age bracket to find clothes. I am too old at 42, for the trendy shops but not ready for Debenhams and Wallis.

  7. Hi Chris,
All was well. I found another dress and it was the same colours so I didn't need accessories.

Will blog with photos on Monday :)

  8. I am looking forward to the photos. I remember my blasted son going away on camp when he should have visited his grandma-and he needed new kit too! Sure enough he lost half of it while away-good luck!

  9. Carol,

Uploading a few photos now. Most of the photos are on my mum's camera.

Camp was abandoned after first night as son was not well. At the 11th hour he was picked up and came to wedding after all :)
