It's Monday - June is on it's way out

It's Monday and June is on it's way out.  It can hold it's head in shame and creep out the back door.  We have had terrible weather for June.

I know here in the UK we can never be sure of our weather, but we started the month on drought measures and we have had so much rain and flooding the drought measures, which were expected to last until well into the winter, have been lifted.

We did have our Jubilee celebrations to remember.  A good time was had by all.

Now to books......

What I am reading now

THE COURTESAN'S LOVER by Gabrielle Kimm
I have had this one on my shelf a while.  I picked it up to read earlier in the year but could not get into it.
I put it back on the shelf rather than give up after 50 pages.  I am glad I did as I picked up the flow after about 80 pages.

New on the blog

Review of THE LADY MOST LIKELY - JULIA QUINN, ELOISA JAMES, CONNIE BROCKWAY

  3. Love your jubilee goodies...and I like how you described the month of June, "It can hold its head in shame and creep out the back door." lol

  5. We need rain here desperately. The farmers are having an awful time and the lawns are brown and the flowers are wilting. Crazy, just crazy. The upper part of the state has had flooding and we get barely a drop. Slight chance for rain on Thursday! How are your plans coming??

  8. What an adorable cover on Yours Truly. I know, I'm not supposed to judge a book by it's cover!

Weather has been strange everywhere this year. We are having a drought, which is somewhat unusual where I live (Chicago). No rain other than a few sprinkles in my yard for three and half weeks and counting. And I choose this year to start a new wildflower garden!

  9. I love the look of those cupcakes! I've been trying to perfect the art of cupcakes making for a while now and even though my lemon cupcakes with lemon icing taste lovely, they don't look very pretty!
